Subject: Call to Cease Unlawful Actions
Dear Ms. Kuzmytska,
I am reaching out regarding the growing demand for legal assistance from Ukrainian refugees and the activities of the branch of the Ukrainian state enterprise “Dokument.” Since your branch operates under Czech legislation, including concerning Ukrainian citizens, I am addressing you with this appeal.
Your branch in the Czech Republic provides comprehensive services to Ukrainians related to obtaining documents. Unfortunately, our clients have recently encountered situations where, after receiving SMS notifications about document readiness, they are refused issuance on-site. Not only does this constitute a breach of contract, but the group of individuals facing these issues is identifiable by gender and age, making it difficult to attribute the problems to “technical issues.”
I must remind you that in the Czech Republic, the rule of law is based on respect for individuals and their rights. Contracts must be fulfilled, and any form of discrimination is prohibited. I believe the current situation results from a misunderstanding of potential consequences rather than malicious intent.
Based on the above, I urge you to cease unlawful actions, including breaching contracts and engaging in any discriminatory practices. I also request that you rectify the situation for your branch’s clients who feel discriminated against and harmed. If the situation is not immediately resolved, I will be forced to defend my clients’ rights in court, which could result in significant financial and other consequences for your enterprise. I hope this will not be necessary and that the matter will be promptly and successfully resolved with your assistance.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
JUDr. Jiří Pokorný, Ph.D., Attorney
